WHAT IS VIDEO MARKETING?

Video marketing is when a company leverages video to get found online, raise awareness, create engagement, convert more leads, and at the end of the day, drive revenue towards their bottom line. It's a small but impactful part of digital marketing also known as content or even inbound marketing. Video marketing is now so important and widespread that it's a must-have skill for all marketers and a needed strategy for almost every business in any industry.

WHAT ARE PERSONALIZED 1-TO-1 SALES VIDEOS?

A personalized 1-to-1 sales video is created for one specific person and usually to help communicate one specific topic at a time. It’s a personalized video that isn’t meant to be used over and over again such as a "canned" marketing or support video. A 1-to-1 video is meant for a single human and not for multiple prospects, leads, or customers. In a 1-to-1 video, you want to take advantage of the fact that you’ve created a personalized experience for the person watching and educate, simplify, disarm, and evoke some emotion to a specific call-to-action that helps that individual.

What video gear do I need to get started?

You don't need thousands of dollars worth of video equipment to get started. In all honesty, a camera and a mic will get you well on your way.

When I first started creating videos it was with a Logitech webcam and an ATR2100 microphone.

If you want to get started and spend a little bit of your marketing budget on gear, then you might start with these items.

  • Camera (Web, Mobile, or DSLR)
  • Mic (Lapel or Shotgun)
  • Lights (Go Simple)
  • Tripod (Think Travel)

Once you have your starter gear, you can always upgrade in the future.

Who should be in my videos?

When it comes to the talent in your videos, your internal employees are always the best. Sure, it will take time to get them to be good and even great on camera but, humanizing your brand is key!

When you hire actors, it will not humanize your brand. It will not help your team members communicate better or build thought leadership. 

Make sure you and your coworkers are the ones stepping in front of the lens before you hear lights, camera, action.

Best video editor to get started with?

The simple answer to this question is the video editor you can pick up and learn quickly. The other part of this is the video editor you can afford.

Now, with those two things out of the way, the one that was affordable and easy for me to learn was Camtasia. I like suggesting this editor because, you can edit your video footage as well as use it to record your screen recordings.
