Victim or Victor
Victor is a choice you make every morning.
George's signature line on ownership: "You can be a victim or a victor. Victor is a choice you make every morning." He has had plenty of reasons to choose the first: a high school dropout, a medical discharge from the Navy, homeless for a while. Choosing victor isn't about ignoring real hardship. It's about how you respond. He also carries a belief from Rick, his Montana dad: nobody's coming to save you. This talk gives leaders and teams a daily way to choose ownership over blame.
Who should be in the room
Teams, leaders and individuals working through setbacks, change or a culture of blame.
You'll walk away with
- "You are where you are because of you. Own it."
- The shift from blame to accountability, with two questions: "What's my role in this? What can I do?"
- Optimism as a strategy, a deliberate choice to look for solutions
- How to make "victor" a morning decision instead of a mood
